Job Description: Tow truck driver position available. Apply online or M-F 8:30-4:30 @ 1102 E. 60th Street, Savannah, Ga. AIC Towing & Recovery.
Experience is preferred but will train the right candidate with trucking experience. Must live in Savannah, Garden city, or other reasonably close area. DO NOT APPLY IF DONT LIVE LOCAL AND KNOW LOCAL AREA.

Job Description & Requirements:
PLEASE SUBMIT a copy of current driver''s license and 3 year MVR report.
Cell Phone or other 24 hour contact method required

Will be on-call M-F 7:00am-7:00pm every week.
Will be on-call as 1st out driver every other week every other day
Will be on-call as 2nd out driver every other week every other day (same week as 1st out/alternating days)
Will be on-call as 3rd out driver when needed (mostly on busy weekends-not often/RARE)
Will be off 7:00p-7:30am and on weekend during off week (s).

Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job; prolonged sitting, bending, stretching, getting in and out of tow truck and climbing under cars. Must be able to lift 25+ lbs. Will be required to pass DOT physical. Will be required to work in inclement weather when necessary.
In addition to the safe towing of vehicles, will be required to change flat tires and do jump starts.

MUST LIVE IN LOCAL AREA OR HAVE SOLID LIVING ARRANGEMENTS IN LOCAL AREA WHILE ON DUTY. TOW TRUCKS ARE NOT LIVING ARRANGEMENT AND MAY NOT BE USED AS RESIDENCE WHEN ON DUTY! GPS system will be checked daily for non compliance.

Have excellent map reading skills and good knowledge of Savannah and surrounding areas. GPS is a plus!

The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Get along well with customers and work peers.

Uniform required. Must be neat in appearance while on duty.
Red Collared Shirt w/neat blue or black jeans or work pants. Neat in appearance at all times; hair, beards, mustache, etc.. must be neatly trimmed. Where dentures are required-they should be worn. Drivers not using good hygiene will be placed on probation and face possible termination.

TOOL REQUIREMENT:
Will be required to obtain a City of Savannah Head Out Badge. This requires a criminal background check and physical. This is an Employee expense. Must be obtained within 30 days of employment
Further “Tool” requirements will apply. The city of Savannah may issue citations to any employee not following city ordinances including the head out badge.

Dispatchers MUST be able to reach drivers at ALL times when on-call. Drivers will be expected to respond to calls immediately.

Pass Periodic drug testing.
